The surprising bit is that you peel the potatoes yourself. Drag the knife, remove the skin and work through the pile. Turning a physical chore into an incremental game looks far more appealing than it has any right to.
Better blades lead to a hand-cranked drum and then a machine capable of swallowing the mountain. Somewhere in the pile is a potato with a key in it. We’d quite like to know whether that means a way out of this kitchen.
