Why it caught our eye

Glimmer is a small bird in a much darker story, carrying a matchstick that does more than one job. It is a weapon, a way up and a way across the world. Making so much of the journey depend on one little object gives Well Dweller an immediate identity.

The fairy-tale setting is grim, the enemies are striking, and players have been particularly keen on the map. Kyle Thompson's latest metroidvania looks like one for people who enjoy getting lost, then finding a clever way through.
